Create your Own Minecraft Steve Head

Create your Own Minecraft Steve Head

It's incredibly simple and requires only cardstock and glue. Learn how easy it is to make your own Minecraft Steve Head!

 Minecraft Steve Head Costume

Several years ago my son told me that he wanted to be Steve from Minecraft. It was a simple outfit that consisted of a turquoise tshirt, jeans and a massive cardboard head. He already had the t-shirt and jeans so all I needed to do was purchase the Steve head. I found a Minecraft Steve head online for $50 and said, "Oh hell no...I'm going to make it for way less than that!" So here it is...a simple guide to make your own Minecraft Steve Head.

Before I begin I am compelled to apologize. When I created this for my son, I didn't know what I would post it on my blog so I didn't take any pictures to show a video tutorial.  plugins I didn't even get great photos of my head. This is a very easy assembly, even without step-by-step pictures.

Items for Steve Minecraft Head Costume

Before you can begin, you will need:

T-shirt with turquoise print - Jeans Glue - 16x16 cardboard box - Cardstock in the following colors White - Cream - light tan , tan light brown, brown, dark brown - very dark brown - red - reddish brown (I see that I used red, so I may not have been able to find reddish brown at Michaels)

The box was 16x16x16 inches and because there were eight squares across and down, I knew that my squares would have to be 2x2. With my paper cutter set to go I spent the next hour or so cutting up a bunch of squares.

I used regular school glue to attach to the box which worked just fine.

Make sure to remove the eyes...

The test is...can you trick or treat your baby sister without her head falling off? Yes. Yes you can.

This project does require some time to complete However, it's really simple and something you and have fun with your kids.

Our Steve head was the perfect table decor for his Minecraft party. It has been in my son's bedroom for six years and it has stood the test of time. It was definitely worth the effort!

My son was so enthralled with Minecraft that he carved an Minecraft themed pumpkin. My daughter, Gretl from "Sound of Music" was not entirely certain about it...

Happy Halloween from Steve & Gretl!
